Nurses Against NATO in Support Robin Hood TAX!

Friday’s protests are considered a prelude to a much larger protest expected Sunday, when the two-day NATO summit begins in Chicago. The activity around these protests is incredibly exciting. The left in America is alive and active, no matter what the Main Stream Media propaganda-industrial-complex perpetuates!

In Germany, police fired 85 bullets in all of 2011.

think-progress:

In the U.S., police fired 90 shots at one unarmed man in Los Angeles.

In America, you often fear the Police more than you fear the criminals they are supposed to protect you from.

What this man is doing beats the heck out of throwing a rock at a bank. Here’s why: 1. So many now view us as the ‘other’, in no small part because of news reports centered on violence. (I know, I know..the police start much of it). But one of the many things this movement needs to do to reclaim a spot on center stage is to emphasize the fundamental beneficence of our mission. A rock thrown through a bank window can’t do that. A group of people sitting in at a bank or picketing outside can talk to others and hopefully even persuade them to join us. And what harm ever came from a gesture such as this one in the picture?

Who gives a shit about the media’s representation of OWS? We are protesting corruption, wealth inequality, unemployment, etc., we are not protesting to make headlines.
Regardless whether the protests are violent or not, the MSM will discredit the movement anyway they can. Take the MSM’s representation of yesterday’s May Day protests for example.
The gap between the rich and poor is larger than ever recorded, racism/racial inequality is still a huge problem that the government fails to even recognize, students own over a trillion dollars in debt (more than credit card debt) and you are worried about a few people breaking windows of a company (Nike) that uses child labor and exploits foreign workers so they can make the largest profit possible.
If a person wants to join a black bloc and throw rocks at an extremely corrupted corporation, more power to them.

I’m all for civilized civil disobedience. But there comes a time when you are told No and you have to stand your ground because the answer is Yes.The MSM are tools. Look who owns them, the same peeps/companies we protest against. They will NEVER portray Occupy accurately. We must depend on ourselves for that. Now, I am NOT advocating violence or destruction of property. But if some hardcore peeps want to smash out some bank’s windows, so what. Go after the individuals not the movement. If the cops attack people while they are peacefully protesting (I’m talking to you NYPD) I say defend yourself and make sure someone gets the Cops throwing the first punch on video.
As far as the pic above, nothing but WIN!

Citizens of the Internet, it is time to stand united once more & stop CISPA

Citizens of the Internet, it is time to stand united once more & stop CISPA

CISPA has gotten farther in Congress than SOPA did. I think it is time for another internet blackout.

I say we go RED on MAYDAY. Let’s REDOUT the Internet.

May Day Directory: Occupy General Strike In Over 115 Cities
While American corporate media has focused on yet another stale election between Wall Street-financed candidates, Occupy has been organizing something extraordinary: the first truly nationwide General Strike in U.S. history.

Here is a flyer to go with the Army’s new E31 or 31E “Internment/Resettlement Specialist” position they are heavily recruiting for. (The E-31 is simply the position number and not to be confused with the E-# rank system.) To read a full “job description” of the position, click here. What bothers us is after the NDAA 2012 was signed by the President, recruitment for this position went way up. This Flyer was designed by ihatepeacocks.com’s RyCon.
