I love this movie but it was a product of its time. The Reagan Era was more than just Political, it was cultural. In the 80s, anyone who would impede the pursuit of the almighty dollar, no matter how noble the or just the reason, was labeled a Villain. And hardly anyone gave a shit about the environment then because that was viewed as tree hugging hippie crap with no profit to be gained from it. The bad guy in Ghostbusters is from The EPA. While he was a sniveling prick in the movie, he was trying to do the right thing which was to protect New Yorkers from a potential nuclear disaster because these 4 guys were running around with unlicensed nuclear reactors on their backs. Again, he was a dick, but his intent was noble and sane. His fate in the movie reflected the cultural view of The EPA at that time = He is ridiculed and end up taking the biggest “money shot” in film history from an exploding giant marshmallow man. Ghostbusters is Still one of THE best comedies ever made, but it certainly reflected the ideology of the excessive 80s. rant>
Proton packs don’t kill people. Secret Tea Party members crossing the streams kill people.
We lost a great one today. Made in Egon’s honor.
A dude with a sweet “Key Master” costume from Ghostbusters stumbles across a Right Wing Religious Nutjob anti-Halloween rally. Classic.
Batman still technically has everything.
Just not his parents.
